STI Optronics, Inc. (STI) performs contract research and development (R&D), and manufactures and integrates custom systems. We specialize in lasers (CO2, excimer, and COIL), laser and optical systems, magnetic insertion devices (wigglers and undulators), energy and flow technologies, and laser applications. Our R&D capabilities cover the full spectrum within our technical areas of expertise, which enables us to develop innovative solutions to complex technical problems. These capabilities include theoretical and computer modeling; engineering design and drafting; in-house fabrication and machining; fully equipped laboratories for performing experiments; and facilities for assembling, inspecting, and delivering hardware. We also design, manufacture, integrate, and deliver custom devices and systems to customers all over the world. We were first founded in 1965 as Mathematical Sciences
Northwest. In 1982, we became a
subsidiary of Spectra Physics who renamed us Spectra Technology, Inc. Amoco Technology Co. (ATC) acquired us in
1989 and we changed our name to STI Optronics. We are now a minority-owned small business. Our customers include federal agencies, major aerospace companies, high-tech companies, national laboratories, and universities. We have also won numerous Phase I and II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) awards. |
